The “big announcement”!!
by Jim on Oct.26, 2005, under beMETAL
***DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!***
The Entropy League and Metal Injection have joined forces to create Metal Injection Guerilla Radio!
Along with The Entropy League, the Metal Injection crew have come up with three original METAL podcasts of their own!
- Dead Zone - “bringing you all forms of metal from Death Metal, to Grindcore, Black Metal, Metalcore, Doom and everything in between”
- Power Hour - “hosted by METAL Injection’s own Noa, will bring you the best music ranging from power metal, to viking metal, and everything in between”
- System Shutdown - “the best in technical death metal, crust, hardcore (not metalcore), black metal, thrash, punk and a plethora of sub-genres too innumerous to list”
You can read most of the details here.
If you’re worried about TEL changing, don’t be. The show is going to stay the same, each episode focusing on a different style of metal.
Each show has its own feed, but right now only TEL is listed in iTunes. Hopefully we’ll get the other 3 shows, as well as the “master” feed of all 4 shows listen in iTunes soon.
The major change will be that The Entropy League will no longer be listed on beMETAL.com. I will put a list of the most recent shows on the sidebar (where the bravewords.com news is), but to see the playlists you’ll have to head over to the MIGR site, or use an RSS reader for the feed.
Each episode of Metal Injection’s “TV” show gets about 25,000 downloads, compared to the approximately 1,000 downloads a week for TEL. Needless to say, this should result in TEL getting a LOT of exposure that it wouldn’t get otherwise.

So what do you think?

I think i should dl more MetalInjection episodes.
And as long as TEL won’t change it’s cool!
but why did all the past episodes were gone?
October 26th, 2005 on 3:40 pm
Well, I could post them I suppose, but I probably shouldn’t. Actually, I shouldn’t really have posted that one even, since it doesn’t talk about MIGR. We want to keep the beMETAL and the MIGR TEL episodes separate.

so what content will be here in beMetal?
October 26th, 2005 on 4:23 pm
Haha, I was wondering how long it would take for someone to ask that question.
The truth is, I’m not sure yet.
There is the extremely remote possibility of Carbonado returning someday, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I think I’ll start posting more metal news, albums, basically everything to do with metal that interests me. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a metal version of http://www.engadget.com?

Pff, you sold out, Jim.
Seriously, though, this should be great exposure! It’s a very cool idea.

You can’t sell out when you’re losing money, can you?
October 26th, 2005 on 9:45 pm
lol
Sounds great, glad to see the show get more exposure, the one thing i dislike the Name Geurilla radio, you guys could of come up with somethign better than that.

Wasn’t my decision, it was theirs. Can’t say that I’m crazy about it either.
October 28th, 2005 on 12:59 am
Good stuff. As long as the Entropy League doesn’t change I’m good :). Congrats Jim for the new exposure. So bemetal has nothing to do with the Entropy League now?
October 28th, 2005 on 9:49 am
Well, not really I guess. i’m sure I’ll stil make posts talking about it, but yeah, it’s pretty much not associated with bemetal.com anymore.

THis is so awesome. I’ve been a fan of metal injection for a long time and now they’re teaming up with the best podcast ever? Freaking sweet man. Freaking sweet.
On an unrelated note: When is the “scariest metal you can find” episode that’s seperate from TEL coming out? I can’t wait to use it to scare tricker treaters and the neighbors!

hey jim congrats on the new announcement. you are taking it to the next level!!
October 30th, 2005 on 4:00 pm
Jim, congratulations on the big announcement. Sounds lilke TEL is stepping up. Given that your show was getting more professional (and enjoyable) in each episode, I was cautious of your new look. BUT, if I can continue to drive to work and listen to the same great metal that I have done for the last four months or so, then I’ll be a very happy person. Good luck.
